Maria Velmer is a Consultant for Soukup Strategic Solutions, with over 10 years of experience in fundraising, strategic communications, and mission-centered event execution. She began her career as Director of Advancement at Reitz Memorial High School in Southern Indiana, where she led alumni engagement and development efforts. She later joined Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, working directly with executive leadership to plan and implement nearly 30 high-impact events across the region.

With a deep understanding of how storytelling drives connection and giving, Maria specializes in aligning organizational goals with clear, compelling messaging and thoughtful experiences. Her background blends logistics, marketing, and donor care, ensuring that every detail reinforces mission and impact.

Maria holds a BA in Strategic Communications with a specialization in Public Relations from Butler University. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and their dog, Oscar. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and cheering on Kentucky sports teams.
