Grant Writer

Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grant Writer to join our dynamic team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our client’s programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit fundraising, excellent writing skills, and a proven track record of securing grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Job Location

The position is remote. The entire Grants Team works remotely. 

Time Commitment

This is a full-time position of 40-hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours will be required to fulfill client needs.  

Grant Writer Job Tasks 

Grant Research

  • Develop a deep understanding of clients’ programmatic offerings, innovations, and data to inform grant writing and reporting activities.
  • Research grant opportunities at the federal, state, and local level.
  • Determine whether funding opportunities match clients’ priorities for funding their programs and services.
  • Research guidelines for specific funders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grant funders.
  • Coordinate the work process from the release of the application through submission.

Proposal Writing 

  • Write compelling and persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify the required materials needed from the Client to complete funding requests.
  • Collaborate with client to gather accurate information and data for proposals.
  • Ensure all proposals meet the specific requirements and guidelines of each funder.
  • Submit grant proposals on behalf of clients, including all required attachments, before the deadline and maintain documentation of submission.

Grant Management and Reporting 

  • Maintain grant records, including files of all proposals, contracts, and reports.
  • Track the status of submitted proposals and follow up with funders as necessary.
  • Manage grant reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submission of progress reports and financial reports to funders.
  • Maintain detailed records of grant activities, funding received, and outcomes achieved.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree required (degree in English, Writing, Marketing, Communications or Journalism preferred)

Experience

Demonstrated professional experience in writing (2+ years grant writing and grant management preferred)
