You’ll work at the intersection of strategy and execution, supporting nonprofit organizations where messaging, visibility, and engagement connect directly to fundraising outcomes and organizational growth.

In this role, you will:

  • See how social media supports broader strategy, donor engagement, and organizational growth

  • Collaborate with a team that prioritizes thoughtful strategy over content volume

This is not an entry-level role and requires the ability to think strategically while delivering high-quality execution.

Position Overview

The Social Media Management Consultant supports both company and client social media efforts by planning, creating, and managing content aligned with broader organizational and fundraising strategies.

This role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking and execution, along with the ability to communicate clearly, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a collaborative remote environment.  

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Planning
Lead the development and execution of social media strategies that align with client and company goals. This includes translating organizational priorities into clear messaging, aligning content with fundraising initiatives, and identifying opportunities to strengthen visibility, engagement, and brand clarity, including paid advertising and boosting strategies.

Content Development & Execution
Develop and manage content calendars (primarily LinkedIn and Facebook as well as YouTube and Instagram), draft and schedule content that reflects client voice and priorities, and repurpose long-form content into effective social media messaging. Ensure consistency across platforms and communications.

Performance Tracking & Optimization
Monitor performance, track engagement and audience trends, and provide recommendations to improve effectiveness. Prepare clear, concise reports and continuously refine strategies across both organic and paid efforts.

Collaboration & Communication
Participate in internal and client meetings, communicate effectively with clients and team members, and collaborate across service areas to ensure alignment and consistency. Candidates should be comfortable communicating directly with nonprofit executives and leadership teams.

Tools & Systems
Use Microsoft 365 programs, including Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint, along with social media scheduling and analytics platforms and AI tools to support content development, collaboration, reporting, and workflow management. Track time and project work using Clockify. Candidates should be comfortable learning new platforms and working efficiently within established systems and processes.

This role is not focused on high-volume posting or trend-driven content, but on thoughtful, strategy-aligned communication.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations
  • Demonstrated experience in social media management and content development
  • Experience managing professional social media accounts and interpreting social media performance data
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Teams, Word, and Canva or similar platforms

Preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to implement all aspects of the donor development cycle
  • Familiarity with fundraising, donor communications, or nonprofit marketing
  • Experience using AI tools to support content development

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred (marketing, communications, journalism, business, or related field)

This is a remote, part-time consulting role with flexible hours based on client needs.

  • Availability during standard business hours is required for meetings and collaboration
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be needed based on project timelines
  • Strong communication, responsiveness, and reliability are essential
