Avow Hospice is a Collier County, Florida-based nonprofit healthcare organization that provides hospice care, non-hospice palliative care, and grief and loss support. It was established in 1983 by volunteers and community members as Collier County’s first hospice. Since then, they have grown to become one of the largest hospices in the country. They pioneered non-hospice palliative care in Collier County in 2003, providing comfort for individuals living with serious illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, lung disease, and kidney failure. The purpose of palliative care is to alleviate the physical symptoms and emotional distress related to their diseases and the medical treatments they are receiving.

Throughout their history and growth, Avow Hospice has focused squarely on their mission to create peace of mind by providing compassionate care and support to those who need it. Their vision is to be the community’s choice for support through life’s transitions.

They also offer a kids program called The Avow Kids®, designed for children ages 5-17, providing support and companionship to children who are grieving. They also help children process and heal from other types of loss, including divorce, the loss of a friend, instability in the foster care system, and deployed parents and family members.

Avow is a proud “We Honor Veterans Level 5” partner. Services offered include matching veteran hospice patients with Avow staff and volunteers who also served in the military, holding salute ceremony visits to veteran hospice patients, and providing audio/video recording of history interviews, in partnership with the Veterans History Project.

Soukup Strategic Solutions is honored to assist Avow with grant writing. Recently they were awarded $32,500 in November from the Schoen Foundation for Avow Kids & We Honor Veterans.
